The only realistic option for Muslim voters to keep out Reform is to vote for the Green Party. However, there is a real danger that the Muslim vote will either not turn out in sufficient numbers or it will be split between the Greens and Labour. Whilst there is a real dislike of Labour amongst most Muslim voters, there has been a strong push to support Labour from Muslim Councillors and MP. This will likely secure some Muslim votes.
In the absence of any reliable local polling data, it's worth looking at what the bookmakers are saying to get a better view of likely outcomes. Analysis of all available odds indicates that the Greens are strong favourites with Reform a close second and Labour a distant third. So based on this data, the only way to keep out Reform will be for Muslims to vote for the Greens, and in large numbers. A vote for Labour will split the left and thus could well turn out to be a vote for Reform.
Local leaders need to educate the Muslim community on the particular importance of voting in this by-election, which will have a significant national impact irrespective of whether the Greens or Reform win here.
GM Muslim Vote

For too long the Muslim vote has been taken for granted, and the Muslim electorate is largely ignored by the mainstream political parties once the elections are over. This has created a feeling of apathy and disillusionment with the democratic process in the country. This disillusionment and disappointment with our elected representatives and leaders has become more stark with the wide-spread support of our Government and the main Opposition Party, of the atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza and across Palestine.
GMMV was formed as a response to this disillusionment. We are a collective of Muslim individuals in Greater Manchester, whom have come together with the aim of increasing the Muslim participation in the electoral process and increasing Muslim political influence to a level that is commensurate with the size of our population in the county.
The work of GMMV includes, research on candidates, opinion poll analysis, voter education related to the need for Muslims to partake in the democratic system, and developing a consensus on candidates and making candidate recommendations. We will also work with others in our community to hold elected representatives to account, so that the Muslim electorate are not ignored once the elections are over.
GMMV is completely independent, it is not affiliated to any political party, any election candidate or any other organisation.
Whilst we are completely independent of The Muslim Vote, we are broadly supportive of their work and sentiment.

We endorse the Labour party candidate, Yasmin Quraishi
As an exception, GMMV supports Labour candidates who, despite the risk to their political careers, stood on the side of humanity and against the Israeli atrocities being committed in Palestine, by voting for a Gaza ceasefire. The Labour candidate is predicted to win by a large margin with no realistic prospect of any other candidate coming close to defeating him. But we want to send a clear message to the Labour leadership that Muslims will only support Labour candidates who listened to the views of their constituents and took a stand for Palestine and against oppression.
